Here's the final version of page 1. OH THE SUSPENSE.
These screentones turned out to be a PAIN, but I think I got it figured out now. Still gunna keep it pretty simple though.
Also, I'm finding that I would really prefer to print this in a full-sized comic size, but that can be pricey... I may have to let my purist desires go and put an ad in the comic. (I'm trying to make this thing affordable too!) But maybe I'm just so used to seeing the massive original that the shrunk down version feels smaller than it is. Hmm...

Guess Who's Done With All The Pencils?

This guy. Right here. This guy right here is done with all the pencils.
It's awwwll downhill from here. Now all I got is the digital shading and screen tones and various touch up stuff... Oh, and the cover. Saving that for last.

Also, I found out my scanner is not gunna cut it, but I believe I know where I can get this stuff digitized. Yeah. It's still a word. I'm not a wizard with photoshop, so I'm gunna keep it pretty simple, but I'm still considering having someone help out with screentones. (Interested?)

That DS had it coming. . .

This is one my favorite pages by far! Believe it or not, this sequence actually makes sense in context! Above is the original rough draft (with the dialogue erased because I'm a jerk), and below is the unfinished final draft. After it's inked, the backgrounds will be added digitally. Also, am I the only one who thinks the rough draft drawing of Vinny looks like Dr. Doofenshmirtz? 

Now the good Christian boys and girls will have something to DO!

First it was unofficial, then it was unofficially official, then it was official, but now I don't even care. All I'm saying is:

Halloween. 2011.

You should be able to have this comic book in your hands.
No guarantees, as there's still a lot to be done. But if it's not on Halloween, it'll be very, very close to it.

(Insert Fitting Green Day Song Title Here)

I got a good five pages in this week again, so as of right now, I'm down to just 9 pages to draw. That's not very many.
That means that this beast's gunna be very close to completion (if not entirely done) by the end of September! However, there's still the matter of actually formatting and printing the comic, and undoubtedly having to make a few tweaks. Also, I plan on getting the comic a lot more hype before it comes out. After all this effort, it would suck to have an underwhelming release! But if my incredibly scientific calculations are correct, you can expect a copy in your hands by the end of October!
Also, keep an eye out this month for details on how you can actually pick up a copy!

It's so close, I can almost taste it. Mmm... printer paper...

It's all downhill from here. Ya know, like on a bike... where DOWN is a good thing!

As of this blog post I'm officially done with over half the pages. Oh yes.

Gotta say though, if I actually had a schedule, I'd definitely be behind it. Went for almost a week an a half without a new page after some of that creative high wore off, but I'm back in business now! I'll be at a good steady 3-4 pages a week, assuming school doesn't decide to beat me up.

Comic Completion Percentage: 58%

Also, I know I'm a horrible person for not putting up any exclusive art on this blog, but I'm busy making the actual comic, ya know? There WILL be some good stuff, but not until that percentage hits 100%!

Progress Report

Nothing big here, just a quick update on the progress. Been pumping out a page almost everyday recently, so things are moving along nicely. I'd say right now,

Comic Completion: at least 45%

By the way, the completion percentage is counting EVERYTHING, not just the final drafts. So a large portion of the percentage comes from behind the scenes stuff, like storyboards and concept art. Also, once the percentage hits about 85%, the actual drawings should all be finished, which means the number's gunna rise REAL fast after that.

So yeah. Be excited. 'cuz WE sure are.

A Little Credit Where It's Due...

Hey there. Couldn't help but notice you're reading the TPGF official blog. Fantastic.

But there's something important you probably DON'T know... TPGF is actually not entirely a solo project!

Most of the inks are being done by the talented Leahnna E., and I'm getting some help on the backgrounds from the great Jaelen B.! As of right now I don't really have anything else to say about that except that I'm psyched to have them on board and you should be too!
So yeah, when you finally get your grubby mitts on a copy of TPGF and say, "Golly! These backgrounds are just swell!" or, "My word! Look, Charleston! Such exquisite inking!" you'll know who to thank.

Also, I'll be dropping a dandy little percentage at the bottom of each post showing how close the comic is to completion. This percentage will be based off the highly scientific process of me giving my best guess. Right now, I'd say...

Issue #1 Completion: 35%

I know that's kinda a low number, but once I get school under control, it should rise faster!
